Hello readers! Welcome to my poetry page! My name is Alexis. I am from a small town called Bluff City located in the Appalachian mountains of Northeast Tennessee. I am twenty seven years old and I have two handsome little boys that are seven and nine years old, Abriel and Isaiah.

Writing has been a passion since I was a teenager. Growing up, my grandfather would recite poems he had come up with in the moment. Some of my fondest memories were with “Papaw”, coming up with poems together.

My writing did not really become a focus of mine until much later in adulthood. Around twenty-three years old, I started writing on a regular basis. Poetry become my soul focus not long afterwards. I found so much peace in writing. Peace that I didn’t even know I needed at that time. I wrote and wrote. I put every emotion, every hurt I felt in words on paper. Seeing all that pain I harbored in front of me was a huge realization. I had been holding on to it all, when I needed to find closure and peace.

Finally coping with my past, I felt free. I knew writing was healing for me. So I decided to write from then on. I haven’t stopped since. Now I write to share my story with others. I write to heal a broken world, rather than heal myself. Writing is my escape from reality. The time I spend with myself. I express myself, as well as find myself, every time I pick up my pen.
